Dr Sheila Lumley

Sheila LumleyDr Sheila Lumley is a Doll Fellow of Green Templeton College and member of the Medical Teaching Subcommittee.

She has delivered teaching programmes for UCL and Oxford medical schools, London Deanery and Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, receiving an OUH award for outstanding leadership and an award for service transformation through education for the largest of these programmes.

Sheila studied pre-clinical medicine at Selwyn College, University of Cambridge and clinical medicine at Green Templeton College, University of Oxford before working in London and Oxford, specialising in infectious diseases. She is a Wellcome Trust Doctoral Training Fellow at the Nuffield Department of Medicine, with an interest in viral genomics and the application of novel sequencing platforms to clinical practice.

She played a key role in establishing the OUH staff SARS-CoV-2 testing programme in 2020, and was the recipient of a Royal College of Pathologists Research Medal Award for high impact publications answering critical questions about post-infection immunity. In addition, she has been a reserve medical officer in the Navy since 2015.
